About Matthew
Matthew Swarbrick is an equine veterinary surgeon and Lupa's Equine Product Advisor. He advises on how the equine product should work: clinical workflows, ambulatory visits, yard-based records, and the operational detail that decides whether software helps a vet in the field or gets in the way.
He qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2010 and has spent 16 years in equine practice. He trained as an intern at Newmarket Equine Hospital, worked in diagnostic imaging at Rossdales, and spent 8 years as Clinical Director of The Minster Equine Veterinary Practice in Yorkshire. He now works as an ambulatory racing vet at Rainbow Equine Hospital, so the problems he writes about are ones he still deals with on the road each week.
Alongside clinical work, he completed an Executive MBA with Distinction at York St John University, where his final project researched work engagement among equine vets in corporate practice and won the Postgraduate Final Project Prize. He is a Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute and has completed AI training at INSEAD.
That background shapes what he writes about: what it takes for ambulatory and equine practices to run well, and where technology genuinely earns its place in a vet's day.
